A stunning, heavy-gauge antique copper bottle coaster (bottle rest) made by the renowned Shirley Avis & Co Ltd of London.
This is a substantial piece of metalware, weighing approximately 420g, making it much sturdier than modern reproductions. Originally used in high-end dining or naval officers' messes to protect linen from condensation and wine drips.

Material: Solid Copper.
Design: Features a faint engraved crest/coat of arms in the center, adding to its character and history.
Condition: Good antique condition with a beautiful natural patina. It has some light surface wear and aged markings consistent with its age (early 20th century), which gives it a great rustic/industrial look. Could be polished to a high shine if preferred.
