Vintage Torquay Motto Ware Jug - Brighton Souvenir - Sailing Boat
A charming piece of authentic vintage Torquay Motto Ware, featuring a hand-painted sailing boat and the classic Devon motto: "Time and Tide For no man bide."
This particular jug was produced as a souvenir for Brighton, making it a lovely find for collectors of seaside memorabilia or Devon pottery.
Style: "Scandy" / Cottage Ware.
Dimensions: Approx 70mm (7cm) high.
Era: Circa 1920s - 1950s.
Condition: Good vintage condition. No major cracks or large chips. There is some minor "crazing" in the glaze which is expected and typical for red clay pottery of this age.
Base: Unmarked red clay base.
Perfect for a tiered tray, a small posy of flowers, or as a gift for a collector.
