Vintage 1930s Lingard Webster "Old Woman in a Shoe" Teapot

A charming piece of British pottery history! This is the classic "Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe" novelty teapot made by Lingard, Webster & Co in Tunstall, England.

Dating from approximately the 1930s-1940s, it features a vibrant yellow glaze with hand-painted gold (gilt) accents. The lid is modeled as the "Old Woman" herself wearing her spectacles.

Condition:

Display: Looks wonderful on a shelf; the gold trim is still bright and the yellow is very vivid.

Flaws: As shown in the photos, there is a small chip to the topper (the Old Woman's hat) and a small chip on the inside rim of the pot (hidden when the lid is on).

Vintage Character: There is age-related crazing (fine lines in the glaze) throughout, which is typical for Staffordshire pottery of this era.

Perfect for a collector of novelty teapots or as a quirky kitchen display piece.
