This album holds special historic value as the very first release ever issued on the famous UK indie label Demon Records. Recorded in August 1981 at Orpheus Music in New York City using the audiophile Mark Levinson Audio System, this solo record strips away the heavy production to showcase Mac Rebennack alone at the 88 keys—delivering intimate, masterclass renditions of tracks like "Dorothy", "Mac's Boogie", "Pinetop", and his soulful vocal performance on "The Nearness of You".
Condition: The album cover remains crisp and well-preserved with light shelf wear, kept safely in a protective sleeve. The vinyl disc displays a healthy gloss with light surface dust and minor hairline scuffs consistent with careful handling.
